Trunk / Liftgate: Adjustments
Rear Lid, Adjusting
• The vehicle must be on the ground when adjusting the rear lid.
• Lid lock - 3 - is bolted directly to the rear lid - 1 -. The hood latch does not have any elongated holes and therefore cannot be adjusted.
• The left and right buffers - 2 - are not for adjusting. They stabilize the hood - 1 -.
• The hood is properly adjusted when there is an overall even gap dimension when closed. It is not too far inward or outward and contours align. The contours line up.
• Rear lid must engage in striker pin without great force.
Perform the following:
To adjust or control gap dimensions use the adjustment gauge (3371).
- Loosen the left and right bolts - 4 - and adjust the rear lid - 1 - in the oversized holes on the hinge - arrows a - and - arrows b -.
Bolt - 4 - tightening specification: 9 Nm.
- After adjusting, apply a corrosion protection to the hinge and bolts.
- Adjust adjusting buffer - 2 -. Refer to => [ Rubber Buffer, Adjusting ] Rubber Buffer, Adjusting.
- Adjust the rear lid - 1 - on the striker. Refer to => [ Striker, Adjusting ] Striker, Adjusting.
