ABS Control Module, Separating from ABS Hydraulic Unit
- Get the coding from the ABS control module (J104) and write it down.
Use the vehicle diagnostic tester.
• Chassis
• Brake System
• Anti-lock braking system ABS/EDS/ASR/ESP Mark 60 EC
• Function
• Check coding in the ABS control module J104
Remove the ABS hydraulic unit (N55) and ABS control module:
• 5-cylinder gasoline engine, refer to => [ ABS Control Module and ABS Hydraulic Unit ] ABS Control Module and ABS Hydraulic Unit.
• 6-cylinder gasoline engine, refer to => [ ABS Control Module and ABS Hydraulic Unit ] ABS Control Module and ABS Hydraulic Unit.
• 4-cylinder diesel engine, refer to => [ ABS Control Module and ABS Hydraulic Unit ] ABS Control Module and ABS Hydraulic Unit.

Install the transportation protection for the valve domes on the ABS hydraulic unit after separating the ABS control module from the ABS hydraulic unit i
The warranty on the ABS hydraulic unit will not be honored if the transportation protection is missing.
1. Transport protection for valve domes (foam)
2. Sealing plug M 10
3. Sealing plug M 12
- Place the ABS hydraulic unit and the ABS control module on a clean level surface facing upward.
- Remove bolts - Arrows -.
- Remove the ABS control module from the ABS hydraulic unit in - direction of arrow - without tilting it.
- Carefully remove all the seals from the valve domes on the ABS hydraulic unit.
• The circuit board is exposed when the ABS control module is removed.
• Protect the ABS control module from moisture and dirt particles from getting inside.
• Avoid build-up of static electricity!
- Cover ABS control module solenoid coils with a lint-free cloth.
