Electronic Steering Column Lock Control Module (J764)

Always follow the instructions in the Repair Information exactly when disconnecting and connecting the battery. • Code the new electronic steering column lock control module after installing. Refer to => [ Electronic Steering Column Lock Control Module (J764), Coding ] Electronic Steering Column Lock Control Module (J764), Coding.

• The electronic steering column lock control module and the steering column switch base carrier are removed and installed together.

Removing

- Disconnect the battery. Refer to battery in engine compartment => [ Battery, Disconnecting and Connecting ] Service and Repair or battery in luggage compartment => [ Battery, Disconnecting and Connecting ] Service and Repair.

- Remove the steering column switch base carrier. Refer to => [ Steering Column Switch Base Carrier, Valeo ] Steering Column Switch Base Carrier, Valeo or => [ Steering Column Switch Base Carrier, Kostal ] Steering Column Switch Base Carrier, Kostal.
