Removing
• Mark the rotation direction of the ribbed belt using chalk or felt tip marker before removing. Running a used belt in the opposite direction could destroy it.
- Disconnect the connectors - 2 and 3 -.
- Remove the bracket - 1 - and move it to the side along with the wiring harness.
• Ignore the - arrow -.
- Pivot the tensioner in the - direction of the arrow - using a ratchet with a T60 TORX(R) socket to release the tension from the ribbed belt.
- Remove the ribbed belt from the tensioner.
Installing
• Ensure, before installing the ribbed belt, that all ancillaries (alternator, Air Conditioning (A/C) compressor, power steering pump) are secured tightly.
• Check the idler pulleys for ease of movement
• Note the previously marked belt rotation direction and be sure that it is seated correctly on the pulleys.
- Pivot the tensioner in the - direction of the arrow - using a ratchet with a T60 TORX(R) socket.
- Route the ribbed belt as shown.
