Hood, Adjusting

The vehicle must be standing on the ground when adjusting the hood.

The left and right buffers - 2 - are not for adjusting. They stabilize the hood.

The hood is adjusted properly when it has an even gap dimension overall when closed. It is not positioned too far in or out and the contours are aligned.

The hood must latch without much force into the hood lock.

Do not remove the nuts, just loosen them.






Perform the following:

- Remove the catch - 1 -. Refer to => [ Striker Pin ] Striker Pin.

- Loosen, but do not remove, the left and right bolts - 3 - on the hood hinges and then align the hood between the fenders, refer to => [ Hood Hinges, Adjusting ] Hood Hinges, Adjusting.

- Make sure the gap dimensions are even

- Apply corrosion protectant to the hinge and to the bolts - 3 - after adjusting.

- Turn the adjustment buffer - 2 - to adjust it, refer to => [ Hood Adjustment Buffer, Adjusting ] Hood Adjustment Buffer, Adjusting.

- After the hood is adjusted, the striker pin - 1 - can be reinstalled, refer to => [ Hood Latch, Adjusting ] Hood Latch, Adjusting and adjusted, refer to => [ Hood Striker Pin, Adjusting ] Hood Striker Pin, Adjusting.

- The height of the front of the hood can be adjusted in relation to the fenders using the lid lock - 4 -.
