- Supply the outer, sill-side contacts with 12 to 14 volts of current.
- Use the gearshift mechanism to adjust the seat so that it is in the position required for removal.
If the main wiring harness that supplies the seat with electrical current is not accessible due to a deep seat position setting, then do the following:
- Cut open the cover on the upper half of the length adjustment motor, and keep removing the upholstery until the maintenance opening for the lower seat frame is accessible.
- Disconnect the connector from the - 4 - length adjustment motor - 1 -.
- Disconnect the wiring harness for the length adjustment motor and lengthen both cables - 2 - and - 3 - by about 30 cm.
- Connect this lengthened wiring harness to the length adjustment motor.
- Use the jump start cable to connect one battery and use the jump start cable to supply the lengthened cable ends - 2 - and - 3 - with 12 volts to 14 volts.
• The direction of the lengthwise adjustment can be changed by reversing the battery poles.
Put the seat in the position required for removing it.
