Hybrid Components Overview

General Description

The most important components of the Touareg hybrid are the Electro-drive drive motor (V141) , the Hybrid battery unit (AX1) , the high voltage cables and the Electric drive power and control electronics (JX1) , which contains the Voltage converter (A19) and the Drive motor inverter (A37).

Other components are the Electrical A/C compressor (V470) , the low temperature cooling system, the fan for the hybrid battery unit, the decoupler, the Decoupler pressure sensor (G738) and the Electrical power steering pump (V466).






1 High Voltage Cable For The Electric A/C Compressor (P3)

• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Electric A/C Compressor High Voltage Cable (P3) ] Electric A/C Compressor High Voltage Cable (P3).

2 Electric A/C compressor (V470)

• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Electric A/C Compressor (V470) ] Electric A/C Compressor (V470).

3 3.0L V6 TFSI Engine

4 Electro-Drive Drive Motor (V141)

• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Electro-Drive Drive Motor (V141) ] Electro-Drive Drive Motor (V141).

5 Transmission Fluid Auxiliary Hydraulic Fluid Pump (V475)

• Component location: Under the transmission housing.

• Transmission Fluid Auxiliary Hydraulic Pump, removing and installing, refer to => [ Transmission Fluid Auxiliary Hydraulic Pump (V475) ] Transmission Fluid Auxiliary Hydraulic Pump (V475).

• Auxiliary Hydraulic Pump Control Module (J922) , removing and installing, refer to => [ Transmission Auxiliary Hydraulic Pump Control Module (J922) ] Transmission Auxiliary Hydraulic Pump Control Module (J922).

6 Air Guide Channel For Hybrid Battery Cooling

• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Air Guide Channels ] Air Guide Channels.

7 Hybrid Battery Unit (AX1)

• With Connection/junction box (SX1) (E-box) and Battery regulation control module (J840) => [ Battery Regulation Control Module (J840) ] Service and Repair.

• With battery fan, refer to => [ Battery Fans (V457)/(V458) ] Service and Repair.

8 High Voltage Cable Set For The Hybrid Battery (PX1)

• Hybrid battery high voltage cable, positive terminal (P1)

• Hybrid battery high voltage cable, negative terminal (P2)

9 Decoupler Pressure Actuator (N511)

10 High Voltage Cable Set For The Engine (PX2)

• Drive motor high voltage cable 1 (P4)

• Drive motor high voltage cable 2 (P5)

• Drive motor high voltage cable 3 (P6)

11 Electric Drive Power and Control Electronics (JX1)

• Electrical drive control module (J841)

• Voltage converter (A19)

• Drive motor inverter (A37)

• Intermediate circuit capacitor 1 (C25)

12 Electric Power Steering Pump (V466)
