High Pressure Pump Overview






1 Bolt

• Tightening specification and sequence, refer to => [ High Pressure Pump Bolt Tightening Sequence and Specification ].

2 High Pressure Pump

• With the fuel pressure regulator valve (N276).

• Removing and installing, refer to => [ High Pressure Pump ] High Pressure Pump.

• Do not disassemble.

3 Connecting Piece

• 27 Nm

• Tighten one more time before installing the fuel supply line.

• Tighten using the socket insert AF 14 (V.A.G 1331/8).

4 Connecting Piece

• 27 Nm

5 Hose Clamp

6 High Pressure Line

Danger of personal injury from the high fuel pressure!

• Reduce the fuel pressure down to residual pressure before opening high pressure area of the fuel injection system.

• 25 Nm

• Releasing the high side fuel pressure. Refer to => [ High Side Fuel Pressure, Releasing ] Service and Repair.

• Removing and installing, refer to => [ High Pressure Line ] Service and Repair.

• Do not change the shape of the line.

• Check for damage before installing.

• Counter hold the connecting piece when loosening and tightening high pressure lines.

• Lubricate the threads on the union nut with fuel.

7 Fuel Supply Line

Risk of injury from fuel.

• Before opening the fuel system, lay a clean cloth around the connection point and carefully loosen it, which lowers the pressure.

• Check for damage before installing.

8 Low Fuel Pressure Sensor (G410)

• 15 Nm

9 Nut

• 9 Nm

10 Gasket

• Always replace

11 Housing

12 O-ring

• Always replace

13 Camshaft Position Sensor (G40)

• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Camshaft Position Sensor ] Service and Repair.

14 Bolt

• Tightening specification, see - item 1 - in the => [ Ignition Component Overview ] Service and Repair.

15 Bolt

• 9 Nm

16 Nut

• 9 Nm

17 Protective Plate

• For the high pressure line.

• The appearance might vary, depending on the version.

18 Cam Follower

• Can be installed in one position only.

• Lubricate the O-rings with clean engine oil before installing.

19 O-ring

• Always replace.

• Lubricate O-rings with clean engine oil before installing.
