Rear Door Lamps and Switches

Rear Window Switches in Rear Doors (E52)/(E54)

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Trim Removal Wedge (VAS 3409)

• Removing and installing the Left rear power window switch in left rear door (E52) and the Right rear window switch in right rear door (E54) are identical.

When removing and installing components in visible area (switches, covers, trim, etc.), cover by taping the areas at which a prying tool (plastic wedge, screwdriver) will be positioned using commercially available adhesive tape.

Removal

- Turn off the ignition and all electric consumers and remove the key.

- Remove the rear door panel..

- Remove the trim in the door - 1 -, starting at the back, from the door trim panel. Pay attention to the wires still connected.






- Disconnect the connector - 1 -.






- Open the 4 retainers - arrows - on the front and back sides with a screwdriver and remove the window regulator switch.

Installation

Install in reverse order of removal.
