Undamaged Window, Preparing for Glazing

Adhesive Bead, Cutting

Perform the following:

When re-using an undamaged window, cut back remaining adhesive sealant to 1 to 2 mm shortly before re-adhering, do not damage primer and ceramic coating.

The remaining material serves as a base for the new adhesive sealant being applied.

- Cut back the adhesive bead - 2 - - arrow a - with a flat blade scraper (VAS 5448) or flat blade scraper (VAS 5301/21)

- To make it easier to cut, pull the adhesive bead - 2 - back by hand - arrow b -.

Do not prime the adhesive surface or use a cleaning solution on it. Keep the adhesive surface free of dirt and grease.

Exception: if the window is not bonded immediately after the adhesive is cut back, the remaining material must be activated with the activator (D 181 801 A1).
