Plenum Chamber Cover

Removing






Perform the following:

- Remove the wiper arms.

- Remove the seal - 5 - from the plenum chamber cover - 1 - and - 2 -.

The windshield - 7 - could break.

Do not use a screwdriver or a wedge to pry off the plenum chamber cover - 1 - and - 2 -. The windshield will be damaged and could crack later.

- Lift the plenum chamber covers - 1 - and - 2 - by hand at the edge of the windshield.

- Starting at the edge of the windshield - 7 - and working up, remove the plenum chamber covers - 1 - and - 2 - from the retainer - 6 -.

- Lift the rear end of the plenum chamber cover - arrow a - and guide around the hinge - 3 -.

- Press the plenum chamber cover inward - arrow b - to detach the guides - 4 - from the fender.

- Pull the plenum chamber covers - 1 - and - 2 - forward - arrow c - and remove from the vehicle.

Installation

The windshield - 7 - could break.

Using a hammer to install the plenum chamber covers - 1 - and - 2 - into the retainer - 6 - on the windshield - 7 - can cause the windshield to crack.






New windshields have a insert in the binding profile. Remove the insert before installing the plenum chamber cover.

Press the plenum chamber cover lightly by hand into the binding profile. Never force hit it or use a tool to install it.

Perform the following:

- Spray the retainer - 6 - with soapy water to make it easier to install the plenum chamber covers - 1 -.

- Bend the rear end of the plenum chamber cover - arrow a - and guide behind the hinge - 3 -.

- Guide the guide - 4 - under the fender.

- Position the plenum chamber covers - 1 - and - 2 - on the retainer - 6 - - arrow c - and then, starting in the middle, use light pressure to press them into the retainer - 6 -.

- Press on the seal - 5 -.

- Install the wiper arms.
