Front Sunroof Glass Panel Tilt Mechanism and Cable

Removing

Before removing the control cables, note their position to avoid making a mistake when re-installing.






Perform the following:

- Remove the front glass panel. Refer to => [ Glass Panel ] Glass Panel.

- Remove the rear glass panel. Refer to => [ Rear Glass Panel ] Rear Glass Panel.

- Remove the sun shade. Refer to => [ Sun Shade ] Sun Shade.

- Remove the frame. Refer to => [ Assembly Frame ] Assembly Frame.

- Remove the sunroof motor. Refer to => [ Sun Shade Motor ] Sun Shade Motor.

- Remove the rear part from the assembly frame => [ Rear Lid ] Rear Lid.

- Push out the tilting mechanism - 1 - together with the control cables and carriers - 3 - in a backward direction - arrows -.

• The tilting mechanism must not tilt during sliding.

Installation

• Clean the guide rails only if they are very dirty.

• Use cleaner (D 009 401 04)

• Lubricate the guide rails in the sliding areas using lithium grease (G 052 147 A2). Refer to => [ Maintenance and Care ] Maintenance and Care.

• Do not lubricate the cables.

• The control cables and tilting mechanism must be replaced in pairs.






Perform the following:

- Slide the tilting mechanism - 1 - together with the control cables and carriers - 3 - into the guide rails - 5 -.

Install in reverse order of removal.

- Install the rear part on the assembly frame.

- Install the sunroof motor.

- Install the frame in the vehicle.

- Install the rear glass panel. Refer to => [ Rear Glass Panel ] Rear Glass Panel.

- Install the front glass panel. Refer to => [ Glass Panel ] Glass Panel.

- After completion of all work steps, all panorama sunroof drives must be adapted. Refer to => [ Panorama Sunroof Adaptation ] Panorama Sunroof Adaptation.
