Removing
• If the electrical system malfunctions, the sunshade can be opened manually by rotating at the motor using a hex wrench. Refer to => [ Operating without Electricity ] Operating without Electricity.
Perform the following:
- Move the sun shade to the fully open position.
- Remove the rear glass panel. Refer to => [ Rear Glass Panel ] Rear Glass Panel.
- Press down the locking mechanism - 3 - - arrow a -.
- Slide the rail - 4 - all the way to the side - arrow b -.
- On the opposite side, slide the rail - 4 - backward from the shade sliding mechanism - 2 - - arrow c -.
- Pull the rail - 4 - completely off of the sun shade - 1 - to the side - arrow d -.
• In the following steps ensure that the shade material - 1 - is not damaged.
- Lower the rear headliner.
- Carefully lift the hook on the shade sliding mechanism - 2 - with a flat screwdriver - 3 - - arrow a -.
- Pull the sun shade - 1 - out of the shade sliding mechanism - 2 - - arrow b -.
- Repeat the work steps on the opposite side.
- Remove the bolts from above - 2 -.
- Remove the bolts from below - 5 -.
- Pull the sun shade - 1 - with the left and right shade mounts - 2 - and carriers - 4 - out of the shade cartridge - 3 - - arrows -.
Installation
• Do not lubricate the sun shade slide and cables.
Perform the following:
- Insert the sun shade - 1 - with the left and right shade mounts - 2 - and carriers - 4 - in the shade cartridge - 3 -.
- Tighten the bolts from above - 2 -. Tightening specification: 3 Nm.
- Tighten the bolts from below - 5 -. Tightening specification: 3 Nm.
Install in reverse order of removal.
• Check for ease of movement after installing the sun shade. Using a commercially available hex wrench, manually move the sun shade drive on the motor and make sure there are not creases or folds in the sun shade material.
- After completing the work procedure, perform an adaptation on the sun shade motor. Refer to => [ Panorama Sunroof Adaptation ] Panorama Sunroof Adaptation.
