Door Sill Side Trim







Door Sill Side Trim

The following describes removing and installing on the left side of the vehicle. Removing and installing on the right side is identical.

Removing the power seat

The seat is in the highest position.

- Press the clamping pin - 1 - inward and remove from the expanding clip - 2 -.

- Pull the trim upward off of the seat.

- Disconnect the wiring harnesses from the driver seat lumbar support adjustment switch (E176) , the driver seat adjustment control head (E470) and the multicontour driver seat switch (E658).






Installing the power seat

- Install in reverse order of removal.

Removing the manual seat

The seat is in the highest position.

- Turn backrest adjustment wheel - 1 - until you see a locking tab at back - arrow A -. Possibly use a flashlight.






- Turn backrest adjustment wheel - 1 - until you see a locking tab at back - arrow A -. Possibly use a flashlight.

- Engage Assembly Tool (3399) and pry it in - direction of arrow B -.

- Turn backrest adjustment wheel about 120° more.

- Engage Assembly Tool (3399) and pry it in - direction of arrow B -.

- Remove backrest adjustment wheel.

- Press the clamping pin - 1 - inward and remove from the expanding clip - 2 -.

- Pull the seat height adjustment handle - 4 - upward.

- With a small screwdriver, press on the metal tabs for the retaining clips - 3 - on the inside of the adjusting lever and pull the handle - 4 - downward.

For the sake of illustration, securing clip is depicted as removed in the illustration.

- Remove the retaining clips - 3 - from the adjusting lever.

- Loosen the trim - 5 - from the seat and remove it.






Installing the manual seat

Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:

- If backrest adjustment wheel is too loose after installation, replace wheel.
