Oil Level, Checking using the Oil Gauge Tester (T40178)

Test Conditions

• The engine oil temperature is a minimum of 60 °C (140 °F).

• The vehicle is on level ground.

• After turning off the engine, wait a few minutes to allow the oil to flow back into the oil pan.

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Oil Gauge Tester (T40178)

Test Sequence

- Loosen the knurled thumb screw - arrow - on the adjusting ring. Set the lower edge of the adjusting ring to 16 mm.






- Install the oil gauge tester all the way into the oil dipstick tube. Then pull it out and read the oil level.

- Read the value on the lower scale.
