Left HID Headlamp Control Module (J343)/Right HID Headlamp Control Module (J344)

• left HID headlamp control module and right HID headlamp control module is not capable of On Board Diagnostic (OBD).

• Removing and installing the HID lamp control module with the headlamp removed is shown in the illustrations. It is not necessary to remove the headlamp in order to replace the HID lamp control module.

• Illustrations depict replacement of High-intensity Gas Discharge Lamp Control Module at left head. Removing and installing the HID lamp control module on the right headlamp is identical.

Removing

- Turn off the ignition and all electric consumers and remove the key.

- Press both tabs - arrows - and remove the cover - 1 -, together with the control module, from the headlamp housing. Pay attention to the wires still connected.






- Unlock and disconnect both connectors - arrows -.






- Remove the 3 bolts - arrows - and remove the HID lamp control module - 2 - from the housing cover - 1 -.






Installing

Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:

• Make sure the seals fit correctly when installing the HID lamp control module. Water getting in the headlamp will cause damage.

- Check headlamp for function.

- Check the headlamp adjustment and correct it if necessary. Refer to => Procedure Description.
