Body Control Module: Description and Operation






Comfort System Central Control Module (J393)

The comfort system central control module - arrow A - is located under the instrument panel inside the driver footwell.

General Description

The Comfort System Central Control Module performs the following tasks in the vehicle:

Sunroof control (issues enabling)

Central locking system control

Anti-theft warning system control

Access/Start Authorization

Light control

Radio receiver

Rear lid closing

Comfort operation

Move the sunroof and roof screen into basic setting. Refer to => [ Comfort System Central Control Module (J393), Sunroof and Sunshade Basic Setting ] Comfort System Central Control Module (J393), Sunroof and Sunshade Basic Setting.

Adapt the new comfort system central control module with the data set provided and deactivate the production/transport mode.

DTC Recognition and Display

The Comfort System Central Control Module is equipped with On Board Diagnostics (OBD) which assists troubleshooting.

The "Guided Fault Finding" function is to be used for troubleshooting of the systems as described in => [ Vehicle Diagnosis, Testing and Information Systems ] Testing and Inspection.
