Fuel Injector: Service and Repair

REMOVING INJECTORS





1. Remove vacuum pump and pump plunger
^ Remove pump retaining nuts
^ Withdraw plunger from the cylinder head





2. Clean delivery pipe connections
^ Clean all connections throughly before disconnecting pipes





3. Disconnect delivery pipes
^ Blank off ports and pipes to prevent entry of dirt
4. Remove injectors using 27 mm socket
5. Remove heat shields from cylinder head

INSTALLING INJECTORS






1. Position injectors
^ Remove soot etc. from surfaces
^ Place new heat shields in cylinder head as shown
^ Torque injectors to 70 Nm (52 ft lbs)
2. Reconnect delivery pipe
^ Torque delivery pipe to 25 Nm (18 ft lbs)
3. Install vacuum pump plunger and vacuum pump
^ Check and replace O-ring as needed
