Requirement Deleted for Cleaning and Inspection of Automatic Transmission Filter at Routine Maintenance Intervals

It is NO LONGER REQUIRED to clean and inspect the Automatic Transmission Filter at service intervals of 20,000 miles/32,000 km (1986 m/y on), or 22,500 miles/37,500 km ('83-'85 inclusive).

This change DELETES two steps concerning removing/installing oil pan and fill tube from operations F4, F5, or L in the above-referenced manuals.

Inspection/cleaning should be performed only during transmission diagnosis or repair.

This deletion covers all AW transmissions 70/70L/71/72L and ZFHP22 transmissions.

The need to replace ATF Fluid and flush transmission cooling system at each of these services is still required.

Note: This service deletion does not apply to the BW/AW 55 or BW35 Automatic Transmission.
