Fuel Injector Quick Check
Start Engine. Listen To InjectorsHold a screwdriver against each injector in turn. A clear clicking sound is heard if the valve is functioning.
If No Click Is Heard:
Change connector with that of an injector which functions correctly.
If the fault is transferred to the other injector it shows that there is a fault in the wiring.
If the injector still does not function it is probably defective.
Measure injector resistance. The resistance should be approx. 16 ohms (varies with temperature).
If A Click Is Heard But Engine Runs Unevenly:
Let engine run at idle.
Disconnect/connect one injector at a time.
If engine speed drops considerably or the engine operates roughly when the wire is disconnected, the injector is probably functioning normally.
NOTE: The idling system maintains the engine speed at a nearly constant 750 rpm, despite disconnection.
