Modification of ECC Control Panel to Fit Earlier Models


The following modifications apply only for 740/780 vehicles equipped with Electronic Climate Control. Control panel mounting is changed from m/y 1991 on. Only the modified panel is available for replacement. Perform following minor modification when replacing earlier ECC control panels.





for 740 only:

1990 ECC control panel





New 740 ECC control panel, 1991 -->

Modification required to mount new ECC control unit on 1990 model:

- Cut off lug (arrow) indicated

- Drill new 5 mm (3/16 in.) dia. hole 32 mm (1.26 in.) from original hole as illustrated.

Carry out modification at each end of the panel.





for 780 only (1988-91):

New 780 ECC control panel, 1991 --> (before modification)


When installing new panel, modify component as follows:

File off raised section (arrow) at each end of panel.





After modication (to fit 1988-91 models)
