Central Locking Inoperable on Trunk/Tailgate
NOTE: It is not possible to activate the alarm or engage the deadlock from the trunk. When the trunk has been locked, the key should be withdrawn in vertical position, otherwise lock will remain in service position and unit will not be operable by the central locking system.
G1: Checking Mechanical Operation Of Central Locking Unit On Trunk
Switch of ignition.
Check if it is possible to lock and unlock the trunk mechanically with the master key or service key.
If central locking unit can be operated mechanically:
Check electrical operation of unit as per G2.
If central locking unit cannot be operated mechanically:
Mechanical fault in central locking unit.
Correct fault or replace central locking unit.
G2: Checking Electrical Operation Of Central Locking Unit
Switch off ignition.
Unlock trunk with door key.
Check that central locking units in doors and filler cover are activated to unlocked position.
Lock trunk with door key.
Check if central locking units in doors and filler cover are activated to locked position.
If central locking system can be operated electrically:
Check central locking motor windings (trunk unit) as per C14.
If central locking system cannot be operated electrically:
Check trunk operating switch as per C18.
