Test Mode 1, Self-diagnosis

Using the diagnostic system manually

Test mode 1, self-diagnosis

The diagnostic system is operated via diagnostic unit B, socket 6, using push-button and test lead from diagnostic unit A.

This is the procedure for accessing the diagnostic system:

Connect the test lead from diagnostic unit A to socket 6 on diagnostic unit B.
Press any button on the seat controls for the seat to be diagnosed, hold the button down when turning on the ignition and keep holding ft down for about one second longer. The ignition must have been off for at least five seconds before this is done.
The diagnostic system must now be activated within 30 seconds, i.e. the button must be pressed once to select Test mode 1, after which Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC) can be read off.

The control module exits from test mode after about one minute if there is no activity between it and the diagnostic unit. The control module also exits from test mode when the ignition is switched off for at least five seconds. When the diagnostic system is in use, the seat cannot be operated with the positioning buttons or the memory buttons.
