Test Mode 4, Calibration

Test mode 4, calibration

Test mode 4 is used to calibrate the end positions and to change the transmission rates.

Input Codes For Changing The Transmission Rate:

Calibration is the process of "teaching" the seat the potentiometer output signals that correspond to the end positions of the seat. The seat must always be calibrated after replacement of, for example, the control module, a motor, a position sensor, wires, slide rails or the drive gear.

Before calibration starts, the relevant components must be operated to their respective end positions by repeatedly pressing the control buttons. This is to ensure that the potentiometers are within their working range. The calibration procedure is as follows:

Go to test mode 1
Read off any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC)
Delete all stored Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC)

Go to test mode 4
Enter code 4-2-3
Wait for confirmation code, i.e. code 4-2-3 flashed from the LED
Enter code 4-4-1,test mode 4
Wait for confirmation code

Enter the codes for calibration of the end positions of the various motors (four different codes in all) in the order shown. When a calibration code has been entered, the seat moves to an end position, and a confirmation code flashes (the same code as was entered). Note that test mode 4 must be selected every time a code is entered.

To make the control module store the end positions, enter code 4-4-4 in test mode 4. Finally, if calibration has been successful, enter code 1-1-1.
Store the seat setting in the three memories
Test the seat manually.
Go to test mode 1.
Read off Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC) (if any).

Note: If the control module exits spontaneously from calibration mode during calibration, the voltage may have briefly dropped too low. Start the engine and recalibrate; the generator will ensure that the voltage remains high enough.
