Readouts With Volvo Scan Tool (System Tester) [CD]

NOTE: Memory module for plain text readouts with Volvo Scan Tool is only available in some markets.

Switching On





- Ignition off.

- Insent memory module for plain text readouts.





- Connect interface cable to ST (System Tester) and to DLC A.

- Connect power supply cable to battery (red cable terminal to + pole).

- Switch ST (System Tester) on via switch on interface cable box.

Self-test

The ST (System Tester) runs a self-test on the memory module and its own hardware.

System ID

Check you are using the right memory module by reading off the text shown in the display window.

(PXD100) is the version number, where 'x' = language.

Selecting Language

The memory module is bilingual. Users can choose the language they require.

System Selection

The memory module can communicate with a number of systems. ABS TEVES can be accessed by selecting 800 module, function group 5. Brakes and then finally ABS TEVES.

Data Link Connector (DLC)

Indicates which DLC to connect adapter to ('A' or 'B').

Connect adapter to DLC A

Press ENTER.

Switching To High Speed

The ST (System Tester) automatically selects high speed when starting the program.

Move the flashing cursor to the mode you want using the cursor keys.

Test Modes





Reading out Diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs)





Displayed if no DTCs posted.

NOTE: This does not necessarily mean there are no faults in the system, only that the diagnostic system has not found them.





IF DTCs have been posted, the display will first show a menu with the number of DTCs posted.





DTCs are displayed one at a time each time ENTER is pressed. Once the last DTC has been read out, the display goes back to the start of the list.

EXIT at DTC no.1: Return to menu option "READ DTC".
EXIT at DTC no.2 and after: Display last DTC.

Erasing Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs)





YES to erase DTC.
NO/EXIT to go back to last menu without erasing code.





If not all DTCs have been read, the display will read as shown on the left.





Not all codes erased. Faults left.

Read DTCs Off Again To See What Is Left.





The menu on the left will disappear once all DTCs are erased.

Exiting Diagnostic test mode (DTM)

- Switch ignition off.





- Start car and drive at at least 40 km/h (25 mph). ABS warning indicator should go out.
- If ABS warning indicator does not go out, see if any new DTCs have been posted.

Diagnostic Test Mode 4 (DTM 4)

Access





Changing transmission speed.





Activating the appropriate function takes approx. 25 seconds. When communicating at high speed, it only takes a few seconds to carry out operations.

When communicating at low speed, each operation takes 20 seconds.

The Volvo Scan Tool (System Tester) automatically selects high speed when the program is started.
