Checking ground points

- Ignition OFF
- Turn off all equipment in the car that takes power from the battery, e.g. interior lighting and radio etc.

Connect an ohmmeter between the battery negative terminal and:

- #20 (#A20) on the text box
- #29 (#A29) on the test box.

The ohmmeter should read approx. 0 ohms for all readings.

If all readings are OK:
Return to fault-tracing procedure in progress.

If any reading is incorrect:
- Check ground points 31/32 and 31/33, the cables between the ground points and the TCM #A20 and #A29, for a break in the circuit as per FA2 and contact resistance and oxidation as per FA6. FA. Checking Wiring and Connections

- Check the ground cable between the battery and body point for breaks as per FA2, and contact resistance and oxidation as per FA6. FA. Checking Wiring and Connections

Return to fault-tracing procedure in progress.
