Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC)

Note: The DTC 1-1-2, which indicated an internal fault, must not be cleared. The sensor module should be returned to Volvo.

All codes must be displayed at least once before they can be cleared.

When the first DTC recurs, all stored DTC's have been displayed. The DTC's can now be cleared.

To be able to clear a DTC in the sensor module memory, the fault which caused the DTC must have been remedied. If the fault persists the on-board diagnostic (OBD) system will store and display the same DTC again.


Clearing DTC's

Fig. 17 Diagnostic Module:

- Insert the selector lead in terminal 5 of the diagnostic output B

- Ignition on.

- Press button and keep it pressed for at least 5 seconds.

- Release the button. The LED lights.

- Press button again when the LED lights and keep it pressed for at least 5 seconds.

The DTC's are now cleared.
