Front Wheel Sensor, Replacement [NA]
Special tool(s): 1158147 torque socket
Preparations [NA1]
- Ignition off.
- Remove wheel.
Removing sensor [NA2]
NOTE: Clean sensor and connector carefully before removing them.
- Remove sensor mounting bolt and pull sensor out.
- Remove connector.
Installing sensor [NA3]
- Clean sensor seat free of dust and rust so sensor ends up in right position relative to pulse wheel.
- Brush any dirt off of pulse wheel. Use a soft brush.
[NA4]
- Install sensor and tighten bolt to 10 Nm (7.5 ft.lb).
- Install connector.
Installing wheel [NA5]
- Check that brake disc and rim contact surfaces are clean
- Grease hub center guide for rim with anti-rust agent 1161038-3.
- Install wheel.
- Install bolts hand tight. Then tighten them in star pattern to 110 Nm (80 ft.lb). If tightening with nut runner, use torque socket 1158147.
NOTE: Tightening bolts in star pattern to specific torque settings is important to prevent stresses in the brake disc.
Operational checks [NA6]
- Read off any DTCs posted in control module and erase them.
- Quit DTM by switching off ignition.
- Test-drive car and check that ABS warning indicator goes out.
- Read off DTCs and check that DTC 1-1-1 appears.
- Quit DTM by switching off ignition.
