Rear Wheel Sensor and Connector, Replacement [NB]
Special tool(s): 115 8147 torque socket.
Preparations [NB1]
- Ignition off.
- Remove wheel.
Removing sensor [NB2]
NOTE: Clean sensor and connector carefully before removing them.
- Remove sensor mounting bolt and remove sensor.
- Remove connector.
Installing sensor [NB3]
- Clean sensor seat free of dirt and rust so sensor is in correct position relative to pulse wheel.
- Brush off any dirt on pulse wheel. Use a soft brush.
[NB4]
- Install sensor and tighten bolt to 10 Nm (7.5 ft.lb).
- Install connector.
Installing wheel [NB5]
- Check that brake disc and rim contact surfaces are clean.
- Grease hub center rim guide with anti-rust agent 1161038-3.
- Install wheel.
- Install bolts hand tight. Then tighten them across to 110 Nm (80 n.lb). If tightening with nut runner, use torque socket 1158147.
NOTE: The star pattern tightening and torque settings are important to prevent stresses arising in the brake disc.
Operational checks [NB6]
- Read off any DTCs posted in control module and erase them.
- Quit DTM by switching off ignition.
- Test-drive car and check that ABS warning indicator goes out.
- Read off DTCs and check that code 1-1-1 appears.
- Quit DTM by switching off ignition.
