Rear Wheel Sensor with Integrated Cabling, Replacement [NC]
Special tool(s): 115 8147, torque socket
Preparations [NC1]
- Ignition off.
- Remove wheel.
4-Door cars:
- Fold RH rear seat forwards.
- Remove luggage compartment mat.
- Remove fuel pump and level sensor covers.
5-door cars:
- Fold up front floor panel and bend mat back.
- Remove fuel pump and level sensor covers.
Removing wheel 8ensor connector [NC2]
- Undo connector 24/19 to wheel sensors and remove leads from opening.
- Pull wheel sensor leads through from underneath. Check that connector comes too.
Removing wheel sensors [NC3]
NOTE: Clean around sensor carefully before removing it.
- Remove sensor mounting bolt and extract sensor.
- Remove wheel sensor leads.
- Remove sensor.
Installing wheel sensors [NC4]
- Clean sensor seat tree of dirt and rust so sensor ends up in right position relative to pulse wheel.
- Brush any dirt off of pulse wheel. Use a soft brush.
- Install sensor leads and sensor and tighten bolt to 10 Nm (8 ft.lb).
Installing wheel sensor connector [NC5]
- Run a lead down through hole for level sensor and fuel pump to rear axle.
- Attach new connector to lead.
NOTE: Protect connector from dirt and moisture.
- Pull connector up alongside fuel hoses to the other connector.
- Connect connector to wheel sensors. Install leads to opening.
Finishing [NC6]
- Replace covers on fuel pump and level sensor. Check that seals are intact.
- Lay mats back.
Operational checks [NC7]
- Read off any DTCs posted in control module and erase them.
- Quit DTM by switching off ignition.
- Test-Drive car, check that brakes are working and that ABS-warning indicator goes out.
- Read off DTCs and check that code 1-1-1 appears.
- Quit DTM by switching off ignition.
