AB. Transmission control module TCM, replacement

Important






- When transferring the TCM between different cars be sure to make a note of any diagnostic trouble codes DTC before removing the TCM from the car.
- Tum off the ignition before removing the TCM from the car.


NOTE: Always check the TCM and control module box connector have the required pins and sockets and that these have not been pressed out of their locking positions. Damaged or loose pins or sockets can cause a malfunction.

- Ignition OFF
- Open control module box. Remove the TCM (slot 3 nearest the right fender).

Check that none of the pins or sockets on the connector are damaged.

- Install new control module TCM.
- Ignition ON.
- Read off any DTCs set and then clear them.


Then continue with:

Adaptation of the throttle position (TP) signal AB4.

Adaptation of the throttle position (TP) signal






The TP signal must be adapted whenever a new control module is installed. Proceed as follows:

- Block all four wheels
- Start engine.

Important! Apply parking brake and press down hard on the brake pedal with left foot during the entire procedure.

- Set gearsh itt selector to position D

Fully depress the accelerator pedal (AP) so the kickdown switch closes.







- Keep the AP fully depressed for 5 seconds
- Release the AP and set the gearshift selector to position P.

The TP signal is now adapted to the new TCM.
