General Description

The control system consists of the following components:

- ECC control panel ECC
- servomotor
- solenoid valve bank
- power stage
- sensor, (four)





The ECC control panel is completely new.
1. Blower, automatic or manual
2. Air distribution, automatic or manual
3. Temperature control
4. Recirculation in all positions except defroster
5. A/C on/off + fault indication + 23 DTCs
These afford wide latitude for individual adjustment of the interior climate. In addition to fully automatic operation, all controls can be operated manually.

The A/C unit can be switched oft with the A/C button. (5).

On models up to 1991, the A/C button must be released (i.e. the snowflake symbol must be extinguished). If auto is selected, the A/C button must be depressed (on). In this position, the compressor is switched in and out automatically.

On models from 1991 on, the A/C button must be depressed (i.e. A/C off" will be lit). If auto is selected, the A/C button must be released (on). In this position, the compressor is switched in and out automatically.

Recirculation can be selected in all positions except defroster. During recirculation, 90 % of the air is drawn from the interior and 10 % from outside.

Inbuilt fault indication
ECC features inbuilt fault indication which is displayed by flashing of the A/C button light. Using a three-digit code, 23 different types of DTC can be displayed.
