Checking The Power Stage GND Terminal
- Ignition off.
- Disconnect the power stage connector.
Connect an ohmmeter between 2 on the connector and GND.
The ohmmeter should read 0 ohms.

If this value is OK
^ Check the power supply to the power stage HE2.

If the reading is incorrect
^ Check the wiring and the GND point at the intake manifold for breaks in accordance with NA2. NA. Checking the Wiring

Checking the power supply to the power stage
- Ignition on.
Connect a voltmeter between 4 on the connector and GND.
The voltmeter should read battery voltage.

If this value is OK
^ Check the control signal to the power stage HE3.

If the reading is incorrect
^ Check the wiring between the ignition switch and terminal 4 on the connector for breaks in accordance with NA2. NA. Checking the Wiring

Checking The Control Signal To The Power Stage
Connect a voltmeter between terminal 5 on the connector and GND.
The voltmeter should read approx. 0.1 V

If this value is OK
^ Try using a new power stage.

If the reading is incorrect
^ Connect the test box to DI HE4.

Connecting The Test Box To DI EZ 116 K
Connect the test box to DI and check the GND terminal in accordance with P3-P4. P. Test Box, Signal Description
^ Continue with Checking the signal wiring HE5.

Checking The Signal Wiring
Connect an ohmmeter between #5 and #20.
The ohmmeter should read infinite resistance.

If this value is OK
^ Check the power supply (30-supply) HE6.

If the reading is 0 ohms
^ Check the wiring to #5 on the control module for grounding in accordance with NA3. NA. Checking the Wiring

Checking The Power Supply (30-supply)
- Connect the control module to the test box.
- Install fuse 1 (or 31).
- Ignition off.
Connect the voltmeter between #5 and #20 (GND).
The voltmeter should read battery voltage.

If this value is OK
^ Check the power supply (15V supply) HE7.

If the reading is incorrect
^ Check the wiring between the control module and battery for breaks in accordance with NA2. NA. Checking the Wiring

Checking The Power Supply (15V Supply)
- Ignition on.
Connect the voltmeter between #6 and #20 (GND).
The voltmeter should read battery voltage.
Check to see if there is a voltage reading when the starter motor is operating.

If this value is OK
^ Check the control signal to the power stage HE8.

If the reading is incorrect
^ Check the wiring between the control module and the ignition switch for breaks in accordance with NA2. NA. Checking the Wiring

Checking The Control Signal To The Power Stage
Connect a voltmeter between #16 and #20 (GND).
- Operate the starter motor.
The voltmeter should read at least 250 mV.

If this value is OK
^ Check the wiring between #16 and terminal 5 on the power stage for breaks in accordance with NA2. NA. Checking the Wiring

If the reading is incorrect
^ Try using a new control module
