Fig. 28 Front Seat Removal:

1. Disarm SRS as described under "Air Bag System Disarming and Arming".
2. Lift front edge of seat pocket and push pocket rearward.
3. Remove safety device from holder inside pocket, Fig. 9, then attach safety device to sensor unit.
4. Remove cover (B) from front edge of front seat rail, Fig. 28
5. Remove four front seat rail attaching bolts.
6. Disconnect connectors to seat heater and seat belt buckle.
7. Lift front seat upward and out of vehicle.
8. Remove three screws from each side of seat, then detach seat back from bottom cushion. Remove seat back angle and lumbar support adjustment knobs.
10. Remove upholstery clamps from outside upholstery and between upholstery and padding.

11. Cut both firing tube ties, Fig. 29. Note routing of tube and tie locations for use during installation.
12. Remove two Torx screws attaching air bag module to seat back frame, then remove air bag module, Fig. 29.
13. Remove sensor unit Torx attaching screw.
14. Remove pressure plate, then sensor unit, Fig. 29.
15. Remove side impact air bag system from seat.
a. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
b. Tighten attaching screws to specifications. Tighten outer rear bolt last.
c. Do not remove manual seat adjuster rail cotter pin: this will affect SIPS bag function.
d. After completing installation, arm SRS as described under "Air Bag System Disarming and Arming".
e. Remove safety device from sensor unit.
