Rear Axle Shaft Replace

REAR AXLE SHAFT REPLACE
1. Raise and support vehicle, then remove rear wheel.
2. Remove brake caliper and secure to spring.
3. Remove brake disc and shoes.
4. Remove pressure plate bolts.
5. Invert brake disc and secure to axle with tapered end of lug nuts facing outward.
6. Remove axle shaft using brake disc to withdraw shaft.
7. Remove inner seal using a long screwdriver, then clean inside of rear axle tube.
8. Remove bearing and outer seal using press tool No. 5212, or equivalent, and a hydraulic press.
9. Install bearing and outer seal using support tool No. 5010, or equivalent, standard handle tool No. 1801, or equivalent, and a hydraulic press.
10. Install inner seal using drift tool No. 5243, or equivalent, and standard handle tool No. 1801, or equivalent, then reverse removal steps to install axle shaft.
