Step C2
Checking the hood contact's ground lead
- Ignition Off
- Remove the hood contact's 2-pole connectors.
- Connect an ohmmeter between ground and the black lead.
The ohmmeter should show approx. 0 ohms.
If the reading is correct:
- Continue with step C3. Step C3
If the reading deviates:
There is a break in the ground lead.
- Rectify the fault or renew the lead.
Replace the hood contact lead or connector.
(Step C3) Checking the signal lead
- Ignition off.
- Remove the hood contact's 2 pole connectors.
- Connect an ohmmeter between ground and connector item B (black lead). The ohmmeter should show approx. 0 ohms.
If the reading is correct:
- Proceed to checking the signal lead.
If the reading deviates:
There is a break in the lead from the hood contact to the engine compartment grounding point or in the lead from the hood contact to the alarm relay base item FH.
- Rectify the fault or renew the lead.
Replace the alarm control module.
Replace the hood contact lead or connector.
