Interference From Other Engines

Most interference on the FM band is caused by the car itself or by passing vehicles, (especially older ones), without interference suppression equipment. All modern Volvo stereos are equipped with built-in interference reduction; ESD (Electronic Interference Damping).

Note that as the car is in motion many sources of interference will disappear as you move from one point to another. Even though modern technology in radios has eliminated most of the problems, still there remain some that are unsolvable.
