Changing Transmission Rate

DESCRIPTION
DTM 4 is used to change the rate at which diagnostic information is transmitted. There are three rates at which information can be transmitted between the control module and DLC. The control module always starts at normal rate unless another option is selected. If another rate is selected, the control module reverts to normal rate each time the ignition is switched off.

ACTIVATION VIA THE ST
1. Initialize ST.
2. Find text Func 4: Ind.act. Press *.
3. Press keys as shown in diagram. Select speed.

ACTIVATION MANUALLY VIA DLC
1. Fit selector cable to DLC A terminal 3.
2. Ignition on
3. Press button four times, briefly but firmly, for about 1 second each time. The system is now in DTM 4.
4. When the LED is on continuously, this means the system is ready to accept codes. See table below. Enter codes one step at a time, watching the LED carefully. The LED will go out after each digit has been entered; it then comes on again, ready for the next input. Each digit of a code must be entered within 4 seconds. If it is not entered by then, the control module cannot accept it. Abort input procedure.
5. Switch ignition off and on again. Go to DTM 4.

NOTE: To enter code 3-1-2, for example: The system must be in DTM 4 (LED on). Press button 3 times (for figure 3). LED will go out; wait for it to come on again. Enter next digit once LED comes back on. Press button once (1). LED will go out; wait for it to come on again. When the LED comes back on, press button twice (2). Code 3-1-2 is now entered.

NOTE: If LED does not come on when button is pressed: Go to Checking DLC.
