Exhaust System: Service and Repair

EXHAUST SYSTEM, REPLACEMENT





General
- Inspect rubber mountings and replace as required.
- Pipe joints should overlap by approx. 40 mm.
- Clearance between exhaust system and body should not be less than 20 mm.





8. Installation of complete system
- Follow procedure below to avoid stresses in system.
- Install front exhaust pipe and tighten bolted joints with manifolds.
- Support and align other components.
- Tighten clips retaining rear silencer and pipe.
- Tighten clip at front pipe joint.
- Check clearance between system and body and adjust as required.
- Torque spherical joints to 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.).





9. Check operation
- Start engine.
- Inspect for leaks.
