ECC Without A/C Function
The ECC climate system without A/C is still equipped with self-diagnostics; however, the driver is not provided with an automatic fault warning in the form of a flashing lamp. The driver will be aware that a fault is present only by the fact that the system is not working.
The ECC control module must be removed to request a DTC. The test button and LED are located on a printed circuit board inside the module.
Conditions for requesting DTC
NOTE: To allow the control module time for fault diagnosis and stabilization, a DTC should not be requested within the first 5 seconds after the engine has been started.
The following conditions must be fulfilled when requesting a DTC:
- Engine running
- Blower selector (1) in AUT setting as shown
- Function selector (2) in VENT setting as shown
- Temperature control (3) in MAX COOLING setting as shown
- Rec button (4) pressed in as shown (check that lamp is lit).
A strong light (not a fluorescent tube) must be shone on the solar sensor, otherwise the DTC for the sensor will be displayed even if the device is fault-free.
NOTE: If this is forgotten, the ignition must be switched off (DTC erased) before the nest request is made, otherwise the sensor DTC will be displayed again.
