Fuel Tank: Description and Operation
The fuel tank, located under vehicle in front of rear axle, is a gasoline storage unit. It can hold up to 21 US gal. (80 l) of unleaded gasoline (91 octane).The inlet is sealed by a gas cap which incorporates pressure and vacuum relief valves. These safety valves protect the tank from damage if the evaporative control vent system fails.
The tank is also equipped with the in-tank fuel pump, gauge sending unit, fuel supply and return fittings and a vapor delivery fitting.
