Checking DLC

Checking LED
- Switch on ignition.
- Press test button on DLC A.
LED should light when button is pressed.
If LED does not light:
- Check supply from battery as per B8.
If LED lights:
- Check supply from control unit as per B10.

Checking battery supply
- Switch on ignition.
Connect voltmeter between connector terminal 4 and ground.
Instrument should indicate battery voltage.
If reading is correct:
- Check ground terminal as per B9.
If reading is incorrect:
- Check fuse and supply lead for open-circuit as per B2. Wiring

Checking ground terminal
- Switch on ignition.
Connect ohmmeter between connector terminal 8 and ground.
Instrument should indicate approx. 0 Ohms.
If reading is correct:
- Repeat test with new DLC.
If reading is incorrect:
- Check ground terminal and lead for open-circuit as per B2. Wiring

Checking supply from control module.
- Switch on ignition.
Connect voltmeter between connector terminal 1 and ground.
Connect voltmeter between connector terminal 2 and ground.
Instrument should indicate over 5 V in both cases.
If readings are correct:
- Replace DLC.
if readings are incorrect:
- Check lead between control unit and DLC for open-circuit as per B2 or short-circuit to ground as per B3. Wiring
