Test Mode 2: Testing Sensor Signals

Test mode 2: Testing sensor signals

Test mode 2 enables the TCM input signals to be tested. On the AW 30-40 and AW 30-43, the test is carried out by activating the controls one by one. If the TCM receives an input signal, it responds with a special response code for each signal. Apart from checking the operation of the component, this function also provides a check that no open-circuits or short-circuits are present in the control wiring and connections.

Failure to receive a response code indicates that the TCM has not received a signal. In this case, troubleshooting should be carried out on the circuit of which the component in question is part.

For best results, the components should be operated in the following order. Components may also be checked individually.

Note!
The TCM also receives a signal from the TCM. For this reason, the shift lock release must be used to move the gear selector lever from P to R in step two in the response code table.
