New brake servo
A new brake servo with increased ratio has been introduced into production This has been introduced from 1995 for the 960. It has been introduced in the middle of the production year for the 940, see chassis numbers.

Pedal travel must not exceed 50 mm (1-61/64 in) with engine switched off. The brake pedal must be depressed 3-4 times with the engine turned off before a measurement is taken. To take a measurement depress the brake pedal as if braking heavily (200 N, 45 lbf).
For cars equipped with the older type of brake servo, pedal travel must not exceed 55 mm (2-5/32 in), as described in the Service Manuals.
This Service Bulletin must be used to supplement the following manuals:

Print the stickers in this bulletin onto the Service Manual pages that need updating, and draw a cross beside each occurrence of the value 55 mm.
