Front Door

FRONT DOOR

Raise window fully.

REMOVE:

- trim round the inner door opener. Use plastic/bone knife.

- plate in handle covering the screws Use a plastic/bone knife.




- screws under the plate (2).

REMOVE:




- power windows and door mirrors control panel.

REMOVE:

- door-edge warning light.

Use bone knife.

REMOVE:




- clips in lower edge (3).

(Use new removal tool, P/N 9614238-3).

REMOVE DOOR PANEL:




Pull out panel at lower edge (1).

Press panel up at back edge (2).

Remove panel by pulling front edge outward (3). Remove cables from door seal.

Release door seal at upper edge and pull downward.

Note
The three clips in the bottom edge of the door seal must not be removed.

REMOVE:



- pop rivets on inner door opener.
Drill out with a 6 mm (19/32) drill.

NOTE!
Use a cloth or other protection to prevent metal filings and particles from falling into the door.


REMOVE:

- lock striker

- link

- lock cylinder

REMOVE:




- cable sleeve from U mounting.

REMOVE:




- complete lock in the door.

REMOVE:

- outer door opener link: Lift out inner lock.




DETACH CABLE NIPPLE FROM INNER LOCK.

REMOVE:

- connector and cable tie.

- inner door opener.

INSTALL:

- inner door opener (mounted loose; do not use pop rivets).




Check that the cable is between the lifting mechanism and the inner door body panel.

INSTALL:



- cable nipple in the nylon mounting on the inner lock.

INSTALL:

- inner lock in door (do not install the cable sheath in the U mounting yet).

- outer lock, torque to 24 Nm (18 ft.lbs).




- cable sheath in U mounting.

INSTALL:

- lock cylinder.

- new link (the link is plastic and must always be replaced).

- striker plate.




Press cable sheath in U mounting on the bracket.

Pop rivet (P/N 966874-0) inner door opener in position.

Press sheath into clip.




Connect connector halves. Clamp wiring in place.

INSTALL:

- window guide.

Verify lock function.

- door seal.

- door panel.
