Replacement of Heater Pad

REPLACEMENT OF HEATING PAD

Seat removal

Remove:

- seat from car
- cushion from seat
- upholstery from cushion




- heating pad from cushion (use hot-air gun) following working method in Service Manual.

CLOTH UPHOLSTERY:

New heating pads

Standard rated heating pads




Cable is moulded into the rear of the heating pad.

The thermostat is also moulded into the heating pad.

LEATHER UPHOLSTERY:

High output rated heating pads




Cable is moulded into the rear right corner of the heating pad.

MODIFICATION OF CUSHION, STANDARD RATING

Action:




- Locate but do not tape in place the new heating pad on the cushion so that the upholstery seam matches up (See arrows in illustration

- Mark the location of thermostat and cable using a marking pen
- Cut out the cushion for the thermostat and cable (Refer to illustration)

HEATING PAD, STANDARD RATING, INSTALLATION

Action:

- Place the heating pad in the correct position so that the heating pad and the cut out in the cushion for the upholstery and thermostat match




- Hold the heating pad in place and pull off the protective tape from one side of the heating pad, press fully into place.

- Pull off the other protective tapes and press fully to place.

INSTALLATION OF CABLE, STANDARD RATING

Install:




- the cable from the heated cushion with standard rating located according to the diagram at the rear of the cushion.

- upholstery following the working method contained in the Service Manual.

INSTALLATION OF CABLE, HIGH OUTPUT RATING

(The cushion need not be modified for the high output rated heating pad.)

Install:




- the cable from the heated cushion with high output rating located according to the diagram at the rear of the cushion.
