DESCRIPTION:

Today's petrol engines are very sensitive to fuel quality and contaminations.

Fuel not fulfilling the demands according to Volvo's recommendation will cause increased engine wear engine damages and engines not performing as specified.

Petrol with 10% ethanol (E10) is cleared for use in all Volvo cars with petrol engines introduced to the market since 1976 based upon servicing and other conditions according to the equipment and material with which the vehicle was originally equipped.

There is a test in VIDA used to determine the amount of ethanol in the fuel. See VIDA:

INFORMATION> Fault Tracing> General Diagnostics and tests> Engine with mounting and equipment> Ignition and control systems> Control system fuel supply> Measuring the ethanol content.

NOTE!
No after market additives are allowed.
