Background:
In our Service Literature, a vehicle is often referred to by its "type" not its "model". For example the 1999 - 2006 Model Year S80 is type "184". You may also see the designation, for example "P2X". This is referring to a platform type or vehicle family.
NOTE:
If a document states "P1X" or "5XX" as an example, it will apply to all models within the platform type. "54X" will apply to the "544", "545" and "542" models. "X" represents variable data.
