DEALER LETTER

May, 1995

To: ALL U.S. AND CANADIAN VOLVO RETAILERS

Re: RECALL CAMPAIGN 73

Volvo Cars of North America, Inc., and Volvo Canada Ltd., have announced a safety recall affecting certain 1995 model year 960 sedans and wagons, for an incorrect tire pressure label. Approximately 4,946 Volvos in the U.S. and 519 in Canada are affected.

The spare tire information on the label for size and pressure is incorrect. Please note that the information on the spare tire itself is correct.

The chassis numbers of the affected vehicles are as follows:

Model Chassis - # Range

964 - 048301-057361
965 - 018100-021179

CUSTOMER NOTIFICATION PROCEDURE

All owners of affected vehicles will be contacted by letter directly and supplied with a replacement label and installation instructions. In some instances they may request their authorized Volvo retailer to install the label.

RETAILER RESPONSIBILITY

All stock vehicles at U.S. Retailers must have Recall 73 completed prior to retail sale as required by Section 154(D) of the U.S. National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act. We strongly recommend that Canadian retailers complete the recall on stock vehicles prior to retail delivery.

A Service Manager Bulletin describing the complete information will be mailed under separate cover to your Service Manager.

Your effort and cooperation in this matter is greatly appreciated
