C. Diagnostic procedure
Important!
Operation of the electrical system will be poor unless the generator is working satisfactorily and the battery is in good condition. The risk of faults is high when the supply voltage is low. Also check the installation of accessories.

Use the 'OBD report and checklist' for the AW 30-43, AW 30-40 and AW 50-42 transmissions. Diagnostic Report and Checklist
Enter details of the model and fault(s), noting any information supplied by owner.

Read and record control system DTCs
Read DTCs either by displaying flashing codes on DLC LED or using Volvo ST. Displaying & Reading Trouble Codes

Carry out troubleshooting on basis of DTCs
See table of DTCs. Diagnostic Trouble Code Descriptions

Erase DTCs
Since new DTCs may be recorded while testing, DTCs recorded should be erased again.
C5
Test-drive car.
Use test drive schedule to record transmission performance and to allow OBD system to record further DTCs, if applicable. Test Drive Schedule
C6
Read control system DTCs again.
- Repeat troubleshooting and repair procedures if new DTCs have been recorded.
Recommence at C3 above.
- Fault(s) has been corrected if no new DTC has been recorded.
